I am so glad I made it through last week! I was so tired, and my foot was still sore, so sleeping in this weekend was great, plus there is nothing better on a rainy day than laying in bed listening to it. Saturday was kind of the perfect day to just head out to the movies and spend the gloomy taking in a film with some buttery popcorn.
So many choices!!
There is this awesome little independent theater about 15 minutes from my house that only has 2 screens, and they show the more unusual movies unlike the big chains. So I went and saw the Danish girl, and it was so good! I would definitely recommend it, it was sadder than I thought it was going to be, but a really interesting look at an interesting person.
I recently became a Nuttzo Ambassador, yay!
I then went and spent some dough at Whole Foods and Safeway, why is it that there are somethings that you just have to go there to get? It sucks to have to go out of my way (because there isn’t one near where I live) to go get some healthy food, but I guess the upside is that conventional grocery stores are expanding their healthy selections all the time with the way people are now feeling about how they fuel their lives. After I grabbed my Nuttzo, Santa Cruz Applesauce and some vino, along with a few other odds and ends, I went and bought the rest of the (cheaper) stuff at Safeway. Also, if you order Nuttzo online and use code Sasha-20, you get 20% off your order!
Sunday was great! Lazy morning followed by a short 2 mile bike ride and a short gym session, followed with meal prep. 🙂 I made some great brown rice, and spiced it with garlic powder (to keep sodium down), paprika, and Italian seasoning. I also cooked some zucchini with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and pink salt. I also warmed up some black beans which took no skill whatsoever. 🙂 Suffice it to say, meal prep this week has been delicious so far, and the little bit of spice helps to give me a mid day pick me up!
I did a 2 mile speed run on Monday, .5 mi warm up at 11:15, 2 tenths at 10:30, 3 tenths at 11:30, 2 tenths at 10:30, 3 tenths at 11:15, .5 at 11:40. Unfortunately my foot started hurting right after the run started, my right calf was tight, and my left ankle was feeling weak, but I powered through on that runners high! The mind of a runner is their strongest muscle, isn’t that right? It’s a bit sore though, so I am taking a day off, and hopefully tomorrow I can go to the gym and do hills. So we shall see!
Always running in the dark!
How are you all this week? Up to anything fun? Any running stories this week? Let me know about them!
