Travel/Stress Bloat Is Real

Ever since I cut down on sodium, and started eating a clean diet for the most part I have noticed that my body really reacts to traveling and stress by holding on to water weight.  I used to get stressed about this, why am I suddenly several pounds heavier in the course of a few days?  It didn’t make sense, but then I did some research and found that this is something that most people go through.  It was definitely a relief, and really isn’t that hard to get back to that pre-travel weight so long as you keep with your previous healthy lifestyle.


The first thing I made sure to do once I got settled up in Oregon is drink lots of water.  The best way to get rid of water weight is to drink lots of water and then sweat it out!  Luckily I love drinking of water so that wasn’t hard for me to start doing, and I put in a few miles about 3 times this week.  My running has suffered a small amount this week due to the 900′ altitude change, but I’ve gotten out there and hit up the gym for a full upper body day.  Any kind of movement is good to keep your body active, and to help get that sweat going.

This week I was also very strict about measuring and weighing my food.  Making sure I’m having just the serving size of what I’m eating, and not letting my eyes get to big for my stomach which happens a lot!  I also went and bought some more Skinny Cow Sandwiches because I love ice cream, but again, I have a hard time keeping to one portion, so the packaged ice cream sandwiches work best for me.  They are very low in fat, and have less sugar than a Klondike sandwich, and taste the same!  I have also been all over the peanut butter and banana sandwiches, I use Nuttzo and you can get 20% off with my code Sasha-20.

Today I’m going to try and get a good run in and go lift legs/glutes since I haven’t done that in awhile!  I’m sure I’ll be nice and sore after that session, but that’s how you know its working right?  I’m hoping to get a longer run than I’ve been able to do this week, so hears hoping that my body works for me, and everything goes well!
